International Conference on Post-Pandemic Policy Approaches: Issues and Challenges

Our Head of Social Policy & Human Rights, Simraatraj Kaur, was invited as a paper presenter at the conference on Post-Pandemic World Order: Issues and Challenges, organized by JAIN ( deemed-to-be-university) in collaboration with the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences Central University of Haryana, on the 11th and 12th December.

During the plenary session, Simraat presented her paper titled “Post-Pandemic Policy Approaches: Safeguarding Refugees in Malaysia.” Her paper aims to highlight the mistreatment and challenges faced by refugees during the pandemic, underlining the necessity for improved policies to ensure their safety and well-being. This imperative is grounded not only in moral obligations but also in international law, which places responsibility on states to protect the rights and well-being of refugees.

Other panellists during the plenary session include;

1. Prof (Dr) Vinitha P Guptan, Vice- Chancellor, SAITO University;

2. Dr. Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director Centre for Policy Dialogue; and

3. Mr Saliya Weerakoon, President and CEO Eqwtay Limited.
