Bait Al Amanah on 23 July 2025 hosted a closed-door roundtable discussion titled “A Whole of Government, Whole of Society (WoGoS) Approach in the South China Sea” in Kuala Lumpur.
A highlight of the RTD was the Keynote Address delivered by Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri Bin Zali, President of the National Defence Education Centre (PUSPAHANAS). We were also grateful for the Opening Remarks delivered by Dr. Abdul Razak Ahmad, the Founding Director of Bait Al Amanah, which set the stage for the day's critical deliberations.
We express our heartfelt appreciation to the notable speakers and experts, Dr. Vu Hai Dang, First Admiral Mohd Yusri Bin Yusoff, Dr. Sherwin Ona, Ph.D., Dr. Ngeow Chow Bing, Mr. M. Habib Abiyan Dzakwan, and Mr. Sahipulhijaiman Bin Sulaiman for sharing their valuable insights and expertise during the panel discussions. We would like to make a special mention of Dr. Chiew-Ping HOO from the EAIR Caucus for her integrative efforts in not only contributing to the panel dialogue but also successfully leading and facilitating the strategic scenario simulation session. Discussions at the roundtable focused on the complexity of Malaysia's maritime governance, ranging from inter-agency coordination challenges to the evolution of resource management in vital shipping lanes and energy zones.
