On 24-26 February, Bait Al Amanah had the honour of attending the “ASEAN-IPR Regional Conference on Cybersecurity” hosted by the ASEAN Institute of Peace and Reconciliation, supported by the Government of the Republic of Korea under the ASEAN-Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF).

Bait Al Amanah was represented by Karisma Putera Abd Rahman and E Kin Zane Ryan Seow.

In the conference, a wide array of pressing cybersecurity policy issues were presented. This includes discussions on tackling cyber-based transnational crime in the ASEAN region, to the utilisation of cybersecurity measures to secure regional peacebuilding agendas, such as the eradication of online hate speech, as well as addressing cybersecurity skill gaps through public-private partnerships. It is refreshing to hear from seasoned cybersecurity experts and meet like-minded individuals on the sidelines of the conference.

We would like to express our appreciation to Ms. Faby Izaura and the ASEAN-IPR secretariat for the invitation and logistical arrangements throughout the conference.
